The Common Man Lawn is making all your Christmas Dreams come true with our build your own BBQ on our large Astro turf lawn that overlooks the water and the city we are able to offer a range of BBQ options with Rotisseries through to seafood grills it’s the perfect way to embrace summer and celebrate with colleagues, friends or families.
Let us take the grill work out and plan it all from start to finish. Your guests will be delighted and passerby’s jealous. Let’s be honest who does not love the smell of the BBQ!
You can even match your BBQ with our Salad Stations or Sweet Stations… Yes we have stations for everything!
Playing host to such a large outdoor area we are able to create food theme parks for all occasions. With Antipasto Stations, Raw Bars and also the classic Pizza Bar we have something to suit everyone’s taste buds.

Sloppy Joe Recipe

The SLOPPY JOE is a HUGE favourite among the team @ Common Man. So we thought we’d share the love & get our Head Chef Ivan Pinteric to share his delicious recipe with you.

Common Man’s Sloppy Joe recipe

Ingredients

  • 1kg pork shoulder
  • 50gm diced onion
  • 10gm minced garlic
  • 1lt crushed tomato
  • 100ml worcestershire sauce
  • 100gm tomato paste
  • 300gm roast red peppers
  • 1tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2tsp white pepper
  • 1tspmixed dried herbs
  • 100gm chipotle chilli in adobo sauce

Method

  1. Pre heat oven to 180C
  2. Add all ingredients to a roasting dish
  3. Cover with greaseproof paper and wrap with foil
  4. Cook for four hours or until meat is falling apart
  5. Remove pork and allow to cool
  6. Reduce liquids by 1/3
  7. Shred pork and return to sauce
  8. Check for seasoning
  9. Serve on warm, soft white rolls with American mustard and a side of slaw
